A fatality was reported in Cherokee County Alabama this morning when a two-vehicle accident took place around 7 AM (Eastern Time) on Highway 411 north, near County Road 101, between Forney and the Georgia state line.

Cherokee County Coroner Jeremy Deaton said that one person was killed in the crash and another is in critical condition. Early reports indicated that one, perhaps two people had to be extricated from one of those vehicles. It is unclear how many people were actually involved in the crash and how many were hurt.

Emergency personnel attempted to call in Lifeforce; however, they were told that Erlanger was unable to fly due to weather conditions, and a call was then made to LifeSaver medivac, with the results being the same.
