The Georgia State Patrol Post in LaFayette is investigating a fatal crash in the Fairview Community in Walker County that happened over the past weekend.
The accident was the result of a pursuit by a Georgia State Trooper after he observed an ATV enter the roadway on the Highway 27 bypass. The ATV came out of a wooded area and headed north in the southbound lanes. The ATV went into the median and went down an embankment overturning on McFarland Avenue below the bypass.
There were three people on the ATV at the time of the pursuit and all three were ejected off the ATV. The driver, identified as thirty-one-year-old Justin Flick of Rock Spring, was pronounced dead. A four-year-old child was injured in the accident.
The incident remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
