A Lyerly man reported that his home was burglarized on February 7.

According to the Chattooga County Sheriff's Department report, Charles Wood said he left the home that morning and returned that afternoon to find that several items had been taken. Those items include four firearms; two coin collections; a cell phone; a large Gerber knife; a box of 30.06 gun ammunition, a  3-inch television and DVD player. The burglars reportedly gained access to the home by removing the screen and pushing in a rear window. A toilet from the yard was placed in front of the window to gain access, according to the report. The value of the items taken in the burglary was not available at the time the report was made.
