Trion Fire Chief Justin Lowe has successfully completed the Fire Instructor II course, meeting the standards set by the state of Georgia and the National Professional Qualifications. This rigorous 48-hour program is designed to equip fire service personnel with the skills needed to develop effective training for their agencies.

The course covers essential topics such as lesson plan development, learning objectives, test creation, and training evaluation. Each participant is required to create an original lesson plan on an approved topic and present it to their peers. Chief Lowe’s accomplishment not only fulfills the requirements for the National Professional Qualifications Fire Instructor 1041 but also marks a significant milestone for the Trion Fire Department.

Chief Lowe shared that this class was one of the most challenging he has faced in his 13-year career. He emphasized the importance of the course’s intensity, which helps instructors build a strong foundation for training new firefighters while enhancing the skills of current personnel.

This achievement is particularly significant as Chief Lowe is the first member of the Trion Fire Department to earn the Fire Instructor II certification. This advancement will enhance the training capabilities within the county, allowing for improved instruction for both local firefighters and those from neighboring areas.
