The five men accused of robbing Union State Bank in Cedar Bluff on December 14th, have been indicted by a Federal Grand Jury.

The indictment charges 28 year old Remarez Antwan Baker of Anniston; 25 year old James Lavan Shropshire Jr.; 28 year old Corey Jerel Morgan & 36 year old Brian Jerome Lindsey – all of Gadsden; and – 30 year old James Jahad Revenel, of New York – with Armed Bank Robbery and Using a Firearm During a Crime of Violence.

According to the indictment Baker, Shropshire, Ravenel & Morgan entered the Union State Bank in Cedar Bluff – and, using firearms robbed the bank of more than $150,000.

The four men fled the scene and eventually wrecked their getaway car on Highway 35, near mile marker 16 close to New Canaan Church – with the occupants of the vehicle bailing out and fleeing on foot into a nearby wooded area.

Three of the suspects were captured within minutes while the fourth was caught later in the day.

The fifth individual, Lindsey, reportedly aided in the planning of the bank robbery. He was taken into custody later that day as well.
