Chattooga County and the surrounding area is under a FLOOD WARNING issued by the National Weather Service this morning until just after 5 PM.  Also, there is a WIND ADVISORY until 7 PM.

Chattooga County Schools are CLOSED today.

Sheriff Mark Schrader says to use caution on all county roads this morning.  There are multiple areas where there is standing water in the roadway.  Use caution.

High winds this afternoon could bring more trees down and cause power outages.

Here are updates from Chattooga 911 about some road conditions:

Lyerly Dam Rd- Standing Water

Haywood Valley Rd @ E Armuchee Rd- Tree completely across roadway

Thomas Rd @ First St Trion- ROAD IS CLOSED

Riegel Crossing/Fourth St Trion- ROAD IS CLOSED

Silver Hill Rd/multiple areas- Emphasis on Mayo Rd- Standing Water

W Halls Valley Rd Trion- standing water in several areas

Mountain View Rd- standing water in several areas

Highway 114 @ Raccoon Creek Bridge- Use Caution/Standing Water

Northwest Congress Street in the curve at Meggison Dr and Woodland Ave has standing water use caution in the curve.

Menlo will be putting up barricades on a portion of Peach Orchard Rd.

Use caution on Williams Rd, Beavers Rd, Hair Lake Rd, Rocky Hollow Rd, Lick Skillet Rd, Calland Dr, and Sloppy Floyd Lake Rd.

Only large vehicles are able to pass areas of Yarborough Rd at this time.

PARTIAL ROAD CLOSURE IN THE CITY LIMITS OF TRION DUE TO WATER OVER THE ROAD. Detour accordingly: PerTrion Police Chief David Gilliland they have Simmons St to Walnut St closed down due to the water over the road in Trion.

STANDING WATER BUT PASSABLE AT THIS TIME IN THE CITY OF SUMMERVILLE:

Economy Street around E Washington Street.

If you don’t have to travel stay off the roads. Although the heaviest of the rain is now south of us we will continue to see rain for the next few hours adding in 30-40 mph wind gusts there could be trees falling as well per National Weather Service Peachtree City, Atlanta.
