Floyd Healthcare Foundation Campaign Chair Gardner Wright says the goal is to ensure every woman in the nine-county service area will have access to a high level of medical care. The Breast Center at Floyd already offers what medical officials call the latest in world-class diagnostic equipment. Campaign Vice-Chair Kay Crumbler says providing early detection and the highest standard of care possible are critical standards in the fight against breast cancer.
A three million dollar fundraising effort is underway for the Floyd Healthcare Foundation. The plan calls for an expansion as the Breast Center at Floyd is relocated to the new Harbin Cancer Center, which is currently under construction. The current operation is already well-utilized, performing more than 10-thousand mammograms for women during its first year of service.
