The Rome News Tribune is reporting today that the Floyd County Commission is considering a tri-county reservoir at Regal Springs that would be shared between Floyd, Chattooga and Walker Counties.

Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., requested a $4,037,000 earmark in the federal budget last year for the necessary water storage, pumping and distribution facilities to draw from the water in Chattooga County, but the status of that funding is unclear.
Two wells at the Regal Springs site in Chattooga County are capable of producing 3 million gallons of water per day.
