A severe weather warning issued by the National Weather Service for Floyd County and shortly after Floyd County was hit hard by severe storms.

38 reports of trees down across roads were reported to Floyd County 911 and there were 18 reports of trees or tree limbs down on homes.  10,500 people are without power according to a Georgia Power spokesperson.  Turner McCall was closed for a period of time due to the storm.

Floyd County is included in a Tornado Watch that is in affect until midnight Friday night.
