A report from the Georgia State Patrol post in Rome says that a fifty-seven-year-old woman who was struck by a vehicle while walking across a gas station parking lot has died from injuries she received.
The incident happened at the Raceway gas station and convenience store at the intersection of Martha Berry Highway and the Armuchee bypass.
Rose Marie Shippy was transported to the hospital after being hit by a 2006 Dodge pickup truck being driven by an off-duty employee of the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office. The state patrol pointed out that the vehicle involved was privately owned and was not a sheriff’s office vehicle.
Ms. Shippy succumbed to her injuries on December 14th.
The incident took place last Saturday.
