The GBI continues to investigate the death of a Floyd County Jail inmate that happened last week.  According to a press release from the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, fifty-five-year-old David Lee Daniel of Summerville was found unresponsive in his cell.

Jail staff attempted lifesaving efforts, but Daniel was declared deceased when he was transported to a local hospital.

Hometown Headlines in Rome reports that Daniel was booked into the Floyd County Jail on December 28th on a theft charge.

He was transferred to the Floyd County Jail from the Chattooga County Jail.
