The FBI is currently seeking the assistance of the public in gaining information, regarding a man wanted in connection with the kidnapping of a 12 year old girl from Virginia.
32 year old Jeffrey Scott Easley is being sought for the abduction of Brittany Mae Smith. Easley and FBI Officials are asking for help from anyone who may have had contact with him recently, or may have information regarding his whereabouts.

The missing girls mother, 41 year old Tina Smith, was found dead in her home Monday; authorities have yet to reveal a cause of death. It`s believed that Easley and the 12 year old may be traveling in a silver, four-door 2005 Dodge Neon, with Virginia license plate of XKF-2365

Easley was apparently in a relationship with Tina Smith.

Jeffrey Scott Easley is described as being five-feet-eleven and weighing 265 pounds.

Brittany Mae Smith is five feet tall and weighs about 100 pounds; she has long, straight brown hair and brown eyes.

An Amber Alert has been issued in this case.

Easley is originally from the Sand Mountain area of Alabama.

Law enforcement agencies in Dekalb, Marshall and Jackson Counties have been put on alert.
