A former Armuchee High School teacher has been arrested on charges related to child pornography.

According to information provided by the Floyd County Police Department, officers executed an arrest warrant on Brian Glenn Cross at his residence on Thursday morning.

Cross’ arrest is the result of a long-term investigation in which he was found to be in possession of numerous sexually explicit photos of minors.

Cross was booked into the Floyd County Jail and has been charged with Possession of Material Depicting a Minor in Sexually Explicit Conduct.

The Floyd County Police Department noted this investigation is ongoing.

Records from the Floyd County school system, obtained through an Open Records Request filed by the Rome News-Tribune, show that Cross was fired from Armuchee High School on Thursday. He began his employment with the school system at the beginning of the school year.

Cross is also banned from school property or attending any extracurricular events on any FCS campus.
