A thirty-nine-year-old Floyd County man, formerly of LaFayette, was arrested this past week on child molestation charges stemming from an incident with a five-year-old child.

Graphic reports of the incident indicate that Dennis Edward Frechette molested the boy at a home in Silver Creek.

The charges came after Frechette was arrested on June 17th after a domestic incident on Old Rockmart Road, where he was accused of pushing a woman over the back of a couch during an argument.

Arrest records indicate that last year, Frechette was living in LaFayette in Walker County when he was jailed on felony charges in Camden County on the Georgia coast.  He served 30 days in jail in connection with those charges.  In October of 2023, Frechette was arrested in Walker County on charges of aggravated assault.
