A former pastor of a Chattooga County church passed away over the past weekend.  Rev. Lee Byrd was a native of Rock Spring, Georgia and spent many years as pastor of Perennial Springs Baptist Church in Chattooga County.

Rev. Byrd was a U.S. Army veteran and served in active duty during the Korean War.  Rev. Byrd was also a businessman and operated B&B Hardware in Rossville, Georgia and Byrd’s Auto Alignment in Chattanooga.

He is survived by his wife of seventy-one years and three children.  Funeral services are set for tomorrow at noon at the Lane South Crest Chapel, with burial at the National Cemetery in Chattanooga.

Rev. Byrd was 91 years-old.
