A fourth Republican candidate for Chattooga County Coroner has announced their intentions to run for the position.  Carrie Blackwell, a Subligna resident originally from Colorado, has served as a deputy coroner and says she has the experience for the job.

Blackwell told WZQZ:
My name is Carrie Blackwell and I intend to run for Coroner in Chattooga County.  I have extensive experience in death investigation having investigated upwards of 1,500 cases over the course of my career.  I graduated from the University of Colorado in 2000 with a BA in biology and a minor in Forensic Science.   I served as a Deputy Coroner in Douglas County, Colorado beginning in 2002.  I have also served as a Deputy Coroner in Clark County, Las Vegas, Nevada.  I served as Chief Deputy Coroner in Clear Creek County, Colorado ending in 2019. 
My family and I moved to the Subligna area in 2019 where I have been raising my 2 daughters for the past 4 years.  I am ready to get back to work doing what I love which is serving the community in the Coroner’s Office with integrity, objectivity and compassion.  A vote for me is a vote for an experienced and knowledgeable Coroner who will serve the community well with integrity and transparency.  It is a vote for someone who cares about the Office of the Coroner and will always provide thorough and objective results in the course of my duties.
