A Summerville woman was a recent victim of fraud, according to the Chattooga County Sheriff's Department. The Dry Valley Church Road woman reported that whe received a check from an internet secret shopper site. She said she received the Wells Fargo check for $1680 in the mail on January 25. She told deputies she received an email telling her to cash the check and keep 10 percent for herself and send back the remaining amount to the NASDAQ OMX Group Inc. She said the check turned out to be bad due to non sufficient funds. The case has been turned over to investigators, according to the report.
