Storm Team 12 and WZQZ Meteorologist Patrick Core says that a tropical storm system could bring some heavy rain to Northwest Georgia as early as Monday of next week.

The storm, named “Fred” is forecast to move to the west – northwest out of the Gulf of Mexico.  Patrick Core says it is difficult to say at this point how much rain we will see in our area, but there is a good chance we could see a good bit of rain, mainly Monday into Tuesday.

The weather system will also usher in some cooler than normal temperatures.  Highs for the first part of next week will only make it into the low 80’s instead of the upper 90’s like we have seen this week.

Residents of Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama should pay attention to the weather from Monday into the middle part of next week.
