Known as the "Sock Captial of the World" Ft. Payne in neighboring DeKalb County is losing more sock mill jobs.  Two of the largest sock mills in Ft. Payne are cutting jobs.  Cooper Hosiery Mills is cutting 200 jobs and Ben – Mar Hosiery Mill is cutting 45 jobs.  Since 2005 when the American Free Trade Agreement took affect, Ft. Payne has lost 1200 jobs in sock mills.
