Summerville McDonald’s restaurant will be holding a fundraiser next month for two of their employees who were recently involved in life-changing accidents.

Local McDonald’s employees Joseph Whener and Bonnie Stephens were both hit by vehicles in separate accidents within a week and a half apart.

Joseph was hit by a vehicle while on his skateboard in Menlo and received two skull fractures, a facial fracture and a fractured hip.  Bonnie was hit while riding her bike near the Crossroads Gas Station in Summerville and is suffering from a broken back.

Jim Aaron, owner of the local McDonald’s, agreed to let employees do the fundraiser from 5 PM until 7 PM on July 9th.  Mr. Aaron will be donating 20% of all proceeds to the medical bills of these two employees.

Additionally, employees will be selling sweet treats and a donation box will be available.

The community is encouraged to come together and support the needs of these two local McDonald’s employees.
