Floyd County resident Cecil Burk and his family held a fundraiser to benefit State Representative Barbara Massey Reece on Friday night at their farm in Armuchee.  A large number of people turned out for the event, including several Republican elected officials and candidates from both Chattooga and Floyd Counties.  

Former Congressman Buddy Darden introduced Representative Reece, a Democrat who is seeking her eighth term in the State Legislature.  Darden told the crowd that Representative Reece has served the people of Northwest Georgia well in the State Legislature and added, "I don't know this fellow running against Barbara – and I don't care who he is.  The good people of Floyd and Chattooga Counties know that they are represented well with Barbara."  

Reece told the crowd that she appreciated their support and that she was encouraged to see a great turnout for the event.
