Funeral services are set for tomorrow for Courtney Spraggins, the twenty-six-year-old Trion resident who was murdered last week in Huntsville, Alabama.

According to family members, Spraggins – a native of California who had moved to Trion – had met the Huntsville, Alabama police officer now charged with her murder, online and the two developed a romantic relationship.

Hunstville Police say that former Officer David McCoy tried to convince them that Spraggins had committed suicide when investigators arrived on the murder scene.  McCoy was arrested and charged with murder.  Hunstville Police terminated McCoy from the police department.

McCoy appeared before a judge yesterday in Madison County, Alabama in connection with the charges.

McCoy remains incarcerated in Madison County, Alabama.
