A Gainesville woman remained in jail Dec. 28 night after police say she attacked another woman and had to be restrained by two people, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Joy Ann Wallace, 45, of 14 High-tower St., Gainesville, was charged with misdemeanor battery and obstructing police as well as felony damage to property after police say she attacked another woman on Dec. 28.

Police say Wallace attacked the woman in a Sunny Heights Drive home, hitting her in the face with her fists and grabbing her by the hair. Two people tried to restrain Wallace, but she charged at the woman and threatened to kill the victim’s husband.

When police arrived, Wallace refused to speak with them, instead saying it was a family matter and they should just go ahead and arrest her.
