Gas prices are continuing to fall in Georgia and across the United States.  WZQZ reported yesterday that AAA says gas prices were down 8 cents per-gallon over last week, and the prices have fallen again since the first of the week.

Analysts say that despite the increased demand for gas over the holiday weekend, wholesale gas prices dropped again on Tuesday.  That is translating to lower prices at the pump for drivers, which is a welcome relief.  Georgia continues to have the lowest prices for gas in the nation – thanks in part to Governor Brian Kemp’s suspension of the state fuel tax.

Yesterday, gas was as low as $3.83 per gallon at Murphy Oil in Trion and $3.84 at the Great Way Food Mart in Summerville, according to Gasbuddy.com.  The cheapest gas in the state yesterday was in Pelham, Georgia located south of Albany in Mitchell County, where gas could be found for $3.70 per gallon.

Prices in neighboring Alabama continue to be higher with gas still over $4.20 per gallon in Fort Payne.  Prices in Chattanooga are better, with the cheapest gas on Tuesday at $3.85 per gallon.
