Gas prices are virtually unchanged in Georgia from a week ago, despite high demand during a travel surge over the July Fourth holiday weekend.

The average price in Georgia is 2.91 per gallon, unchanged from where it stood a week ago, according to AAA. The national average price on Tuesday was $3.13 per gallon, according to AAA.

In Northwest Georgia, Gordon County was reporting the highest gas prices in the area at $2.89 per gallon.  Gas remains cheaper across the state line in Alabama.
