
Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has awarded over $7. 4 million for three contracts in Northwest Georgia. These contracts include a bridge replacement, a road widening, and two maintenance projects, with work expected to start in the coming months after the holidays.
The largest contract is a $4. 4 million resurfacing project in Murray County. Northwest Georgia Paving, Inc. will resurface State Route 61 for five miles, from just south of Rhymer Road to SR 2, with completion expected by September 30, 2025.
In Floyd County, F. S. Scarbrough, LLC will replace the Rehobeth Road bridge over Spring Creek for $1. 85 million, expected to be done by March 31, 2026. Lastly, Baldwin Paving Company, Inc. will add turn lanes on SR 101 at Old Draketown Trail in Carroll County for $1. 17 million, also set for completion by March 31, 2026. GDOT anticipates a busy 2025 with these and other ongoing projects.
