The Georgia Department of Public Health, Northwest Health District is asking for the publics patience and understanding with the COVID-19 vaccine scheduling.

On the website the Department of Public Health has issued a statement regarding the COVID-19 vaccine schedule and the difficulties with it. The vaccine has a short life span and must be used soon after arrival to the Health Department. Shipments are still slow and sporadic, making scheduling more difficult. You can read the full statement below.

Our county health departments are giving COVID-19 immunizations by appointment only and can only schedule appointments for the amount of vaccine received and available at any given time. Our vaccine supply remains erratic and inadequate to meet demand. Please understand you may get through to us only to be told we are not making appointments at that time in which case you will have to call back later. We know this is frustrating. It’s frustrating for us, too. You can find contact information and locations for our ten county health departments by selecting a county above.
