Georgia drivers are seeing some welcome relief at the pump this week, with the statewide average falling to $2.69 per gallon, three cents lower than last week, the same as a month ago, and 30 cents below this time last year. At that price, filling a standard 15-gallon tank costs about $40.35.

“Georgians are getting a welcome break at the pump as prices ease,” said Montrae Waiters, spokeswoman for AAA–The Auto Club Group, noting that rising gasoline supplies and lighter seasonal demand are helping drivers. She added that with the switch to higher-priced summer-blend fuel still ahead, February’s lower prices are offering some breathing room before typical spring increases begin.

Nationally, the average price for regular gasoline ticked up just one cent to $2.93 per gallon. Prices are expected to rise seasonally as refineries transition to summer-blend gasoline, and ongoing tensions between the U.S. and Iran could also impact crude oil prices in the weeks ahead. Even so, current prices remain the lowest for this time of year since 2021.

For electric vehicle drivers, the average cost of public charging has increased to 39 cents per kilowatt-hour. AAA encourages drivers to plan ahead using its TripTik Travel Planner to compare charging prices along their route.

Regionally, Savannah ($2.79), Macon ($2.72), and Atlanta ($2.70) are among Georgia’s most expensive metro markets. The least expensive include Warner Robins ($2.63), Rome ($2.62), and Albany ($2.60).

Locally on Monday, average prices were reported at $2.60 in Chattooga County, $2.68 in Walker County, $2.62 in Floyd County, $2.69 in Gordon County, $2.63 in DeKalb County, Alabama, and $2.64 in Cherokee County, Alabama.
