Republicans are looking for a super-majority in the State Legislature in Atlanta when the new session gets underway next year.  In an article in the Atlanta Journal – Constitution this weekend Rep. Allen Peake, R-Macon, secretary/treasurer of the House Republican Caucus, said he believes the GOP has a solid chance to reach its goal.

Democrats are working to make sure the super-majority doesn’t happen.  House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams, D-Atlanta, said Democrats want especially to protect incumbents in four seats.  One of the key seats they are looking to keep is in the 12th District that encompasses Chattooga and a large portion of Floyd County currently represented by Democrat Barbara Massey Reece of Menlo.
