Georgia Power is giving typical residential customers an estimated $17 reduction on their October power bill.
There will be a one time $12 credit and fuel cost reduction of $5.32 for additional customer savings which will let typical residential customers see a reduction of more than $17 next month.
The company says that this goes for a typical residential customer that uses 1,000-kilowatt-hours will receive the credit.
The amount a customer receives will depend on their 2019 usage. Credit will be applied to October bills for customers who had active accounts as of December 31, 2019, and is still active or receiving a final bill as of October 2020.
This credit is a part of a one-time $61.6 million credit for customers, approved by the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC), as a result of Georgia Power’s 2019 financial results.
Georgia Power says that “pairing the October credit with lower fuel rates implemented at the start of summer, the typical residential customer will see a reduction of more than $17 next month.”
The company says that this credit is the third that customers have received for the 2020 year which totals more than $45 for the typical residential customer.
