Georgia Power wants to raise your rates – again.  This week, the Georgia Public Service Commission will be hearing from consumer advocates groups who say that Georgia Power has had enough rate increases and that any more will place an undue burden on Georgia residents who are already dealing with increased prices across the board and inflation.  Georgia Power has already had their say in the matter and says that the current round of rate increase requests are due to surging demands of electric vehicles, but most consumer advocate groups don’t buy that argument and say that the state’s largest utility company has a history of overestimating demand as a way to increase rates on their customers.  Hearings on the matter will be held this Thursday and Friday and a vote will be taken by the Public Service Commission on April 16th.
