Remote work grew 30% nationally in the past decade and while some saw it as a tech industry and millennial fad, coronavirus forced many in the country to work from home for the first time and there appears to be no looking back.

CareerCloud released a study on the Best and Worst States for Remote Job Seekers after analyzing the most recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and Census Bureau on current levels of remote jobs, projected growth rates in these jobs through 2028, and broadband access in each state.

Georgia has the No. 15 highest levels of remote jobs per 1,000 jobs currently but is projected to see a 20.3% increase in remote jobs by 2028, this marks the tenth-highest growth rate in the nation. The Peach State ranks only 33^rd for best access to broadband.

Nationally, remote jobs are expected to grow 16% by 2028, compared to only a 4% growth rate for all U.S. jobs.

The top five best states for remote workers are Utah, Colorado, D.C., Washington, and Virginia. The five worst states Mississippi, Louisiana, Alaska, Maine, and Wyoming.
