Today the Georgia Senate passed Senate Bill 10 – the bill that would allow for Sunday sale of alcohol in the state.  Georgia is currently one of only three states in the union with an outright ban of Sunday sale of packaged alcohol.  The bill would allow local areas to vote on the issue.  State Senator Jeff Mullis, a Republican from Chickamauga had indicated that he was in favor of the bill to allow local areas to vote on the issue.  Governor Nathan Deal has said that if the bill is passed by the House he will sign it into law.
