The Georgia Senate could vote as early as today on proposed tax credits for donations to police foundations and foster care nonprofits.
One of the bills under consideration, Senate Bill 361, is sponsored by State Senator Jeff Mullis (R-Chickamauga), who represents Chattooga County and surrounding areas in the state senate. That bill, along with Senate Bill 370 would allow individual and corporate donors to “redirect” their tax dollars for specific services.
The money could be used to to raise the pay of local police or deputies, to hire more of them, to provide more training, to buy equipment or to set up a co-responder program.
