Georgia Young Farmers Association has several announcements to make including smoker tickets for sale again.
As a reminder the banquet scheduled for this Saturday has been postponed; once a new date has been scheduled a notice will be sent out.
The local chapter has smoker tickets to sale once again this year for the state association. They are $20 each. Selling these tickets allows them to apply for grant funds through GYFA each year. There is also a pesticide course scheduled for the January 19th in Gordon County. Spots are limited and you must RSVP with Lauren Jarrett by the 13th. The meeting will earn one hour to apply towards a Private (10) or Commercial Pesticide (24) Applicator License. Joshua Baker, Southeast Agriseeds, LLC will speak on “Optimizing Forage Growth Using Annuals” and using the proper fertilization and herbicide applications to help increase overall production. The meal cost is $10.
If you are interested in getting a pesticide licenses or if yours has expired and you would like to have them again, please let me know. Based on the need/interest, we are looking at offering something this spring for our members.
Finally, it is time for 2021 membership dues. They are $30 for a single and $50 for a couple. Please see Lauren Jarrett.
