Chattooga County Tax Commissioner Joy Hampton says county property owners can get a head start on paying their 2023 Chattooga County property taxes.

Hampton says property owners can pay toward this year’s tax bills even before the bills come out later this year.  Property owners can pay whatever amount they want, up to the amount of last year’s property tax bill.

The Chattooga County Tax Office will give you a receipt for each payment and hold the funds in escrow to apply to your bill when it comes out in September.

Tax payers would then receive a bill for the remaining balance of taxes due.  Taxes are due on December 1st.
