All of us in Georgia know that the calendar saying the first day of Fall doesn’t necessarily mean cooler temperatures and jackets and sweaters, but this year we are in for a true taste of Autumn when it arrives officially on Wednesday.

Over the past five years, Chattooga County has seen a high temperature on the first day of Fall range between the mid-70’s and the upper 80’s.  When fall arrives tomorrow, we are expecting a cold front that will give us high’s only in the upper 60’s.  Lows on Wednesday night will fall into the low 50’s.

Thursday and Friday, the fall-like weather will continue with forecast lows in the upper 40’s to low 50’s.  Folks on the mountain and higher elevations could see temperatures in the mid-40’s by Friday morning.

As we move into the first weekend of Autumn, expect sunny skies and cool temperatures with highs in the low 70’s and lows overnight in the low 50’s.
