When the Georgia High School Association’s board of trustees meet next week, one of the items on the agenda will be a discussion about using instant replay in state championship games.  Right now, there are just a handful of states allowing instant replay in high school championship games, but neighboring Alabama is one state that has approved it.

Up until 2019, instant replay was not allowed in high school games by the National High School Federation, but since the rules have changed, many are calling for the use of instant replay in Georgia high school championship games.

GHSA Trustees Jasper Jewell and Steven Craft have been advocating for the change.  Jewell is the Director for Athletics at Atlanta Public Schools and Craft is Athletic Director for Fulton County Public Schools.
