A woman called the law on her girlfriend, and wound up going to jail herself.  According to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, forty-five-year-old Virginia Ann Curry, who lives on the Lyerly Highway, called for the sheriff’s department on Sunday claiming her girlfriend had assaulted her.

When a deputy arrived on the scene and spoke with Curry she claimed that her girlfriend, who is also her fiancé , had grabbed her by the throat and pushed her.  She also claimed that her girlfriend had been cheating on her.  According to the deputy, there were no signs of a physical altercation between the two women.

Curry’s fiancé told the deputy she just wanted to get her things and leave, but as she was trying to gather her things with the deputy still there, Curry demanded that her girlfriend take her boots off and give them to her.  The deputy told the girlfriend she didn’t have to take her boots off, and at that point, Curry got in the other woman’s face and began “screaming and yelling at her and refusing to let her leave”, according to the report.

Curry was then arrested and transported to the Chattooga County Jail on charges of disorderly conduct and simple assault under the Family Violence Act.
