John Whitehead, Commercial Truck Driving — Class A instructor at Georgia Northwestern Technical College, displays some of the student manuals donated by J. J. Keller & Associates Inc.

Georgia Northwestern Technical College’s (GNTC) Commercial Truck Driving program recently received a significant boost to its student resources thanks to a generous donation from J. J. Keller & Associates Inc. The contribution aims to further strengthen the curriculum and support the college’s emphasis on safety and professionalism in the trucking industry.

J. J. Keller & Associates Inc., a leading provider of regulatory compliance solutions, provided 32 copies of its “Entry-Level Driver Training Obtaining a CDL Student Manual” to the program at GNTC’s Walker County Campus. These specialized manuals are now being utilized in the Class A certificate program, which rigorously prepares students for the Georgia Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) skills exam.

John Whitehead, an instructor for the Commercial Truck Driving program, emphasized the immediate positive impact of the donation. “The manual will educate drivers on essential safety practices, encourage professional conduct, promote compliance and set expectations for driver conduct,” Whitehead stated. “The donated manuals will help us to promote our core values of quality, integrity, respect and teamwork.”

The Commercial Truck Driving certificate program at GNTC is an intensive curriculum, typically running eight to 10 weeks. Upon successful completion, students are tested for their CDL, a mandatory credential required to operate tractor-trailers and other large commercial vehicles legally and safely.

This timely donation comes as the demand for highly trained and qualified truck drivers continues to be robust across the region and nationwide. By enhancing the educational resources available to its students, GNTC is better equipped to meet this critical industry need, producing skilled professionals ready to enter the workforce.
