Georgia Northwestern Technical College is offering a course in American Sign Language (ALS) that will be held at the Floyd County Campus starting in February. You can see details below:
This course in American Sign Language is designed to immerse students in an environment in which only ALS is used in the classroom. Voices Off will facilitate fluency in the language.
All students will be expected to communicate in ASL during class time. Non-verbal communicating such as gesture, mime, and pencil/pen are allowed and will assist in learning to express yourself and become more familiar with the Deaf culture.
This intermediate level class requires basic knowledge of ASL to include: numbers, fingerspelling, common phrases, and some conversational skills. Class sessions occurring around the holidays will include themes, this class will include Valentines and St Patrick’s Day themes! The focus is on building skills and having fun!
