The Youth Success Academy on the Floyd County Campus of Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) is offering a Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) Skills Course short term training opportunity for individuals between the ages of 18 and 24.
The 40 hour program will take place in May with dates and times to be announced. Slots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The Youth Success Academy (YSA) will cover the cost of the course for qualified participants. The cost of the course for all other participants is $1,225 which includes instruction and materials. To see if you qualify to have the YSA cover the cost, call (706) 295-6940.
The Youth Success Academy (YSA) helps out-of-school youth get their GED® diploma, start college with many expenses covered, and begin their path to a successful career. It also offers many specialized services that will help students advance to further career training and find employment.
Some of the training and workshops that students can take advantage of include leadership skills, communication skills, fundamental work ethics, preparing a resume, career exploration and counseling, teamwork skills, and emphasizing productivity.
The Youth Success Academy is located on the Floyd and Walker County Campuses of GNTC. The hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
