Last night wrapped up the 2018 midterm elections with the runoffs for Georgia’s last two races. The GOP tied up a relatively shaky midterm year with the victories for Georgia Sectary of State and for Public Service Commissioner.

The Secretary of State race was won by Republican Brad Raffensberger over Democrat John Barrow for Georgia Secretary of State. At the state level, Raffensberger took 52% (~756,000) of the ~1,455,000 votes to Barrow’s 48% (~699,000).

The numbers for the District 3 Public Service Commissioner’s runoff were essentially the same: incumbent Republican Chuck Eaton bested his Democratic challenger Lindy Miller by taking 52% (~750,000) of the ~1,447,000 votes to Miller’s 48% (~697,000).

Local precinct voting places were open from 7 AM to 7 PM across the county. Totals for Chattooga County have yet to come in, but WZQZ will post them online when they become available.
