Gordon County Sheriff`s detectives are investigating an incident wherein a Cartersville man was arrested in connection with the theft of a farm tractor from Smith Equipment Company on US Highway 41 in Gordon County. Early Wednesday, Adairsville police stopped Brandon Gunseth, 28, after he was found driving a farm tractor later determined to have been stolen from Smith Equipment Company shortly before being confronted by officers.

The tractor, valued at approximately $25,000.00, has been returned to the rightful owners. Gunseth told investigating detectives that he`d `borrowed` the tractor to drive home to Cartersville.

Detectives do not believe that alcohol or drugs played a part in this incident. Sheriff Ralston praised the Adairsville Police for their alertness and quick response in apprehending Gunseth, who is being held in the Gordon County Jail charged with theft.
