Gordon County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit detectives have dismantled a methamphetamine trafficking operation following an investigation on Tara Drive near Calhoun. Acting on a tip, detectives, in conjunction with Probation/Parole officers from the Department of Community Supervision, executed a search warrant at a private residence located at 200 Tara Drive. The search yielded a significant quantity of solid crystal methamphetamine, as well as a large amount of liquid methamphetamine. Detectives also discovered the components of a “laboratory” used to convert liquid methamphetamine into its solid, traffickable form. In addition to methamphetamine, investigators uncovered cocaine and psilocybin mushrooms, a hallucinogenic substance, at the residence. The occupant of the home, identified as 62-year-old Tracy Van McEntyre of Tara Drive, was arrested and charged with Manufacturing and Trafficking Methamphetamine, along with numerous other drug-related offenses. The investigation is ongoing.
