Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, along with First Lady Marty Kemp and members of TCSG and the Georgia General Assembly, signed new laws this week to improve Georgia’s workforce at the TCSG Leadership Summit. These laws aim to help Georgians gain the necessary skills and knowledge for success, building on previous efforts to connect people with job opportunities.

Governor Kemp highlighted Georgia’s status as a top state for business, noting the increase in jobs and investments across the state. He expressed pride in signing the laws that will help prepare citizens for these career openings.

The signed legislation includes:

HB 217, which reforms the Dual Achievement Program and extends it for five more years, while allowing GSFC to verify income for scholarship applicants.

SB 180, which allows apprenticeship sponsors to take part in the High Demand Apprenticeship Program for funding.

SB 193, which creates a high school diploma program for adults aged 21 to 40 through TCSG.

“As the No. 1 state for business, Georgia has seen record-breaking jobs and investment come to communities in every part of the state,” said Governor Brian Kemp.”With the bills I signed today, we’re taking further steps to prepare Georgians to walk through those open doors. I’m proud to sign these bills with so many of the men and women whose work every day is building the workforce of tomorrow.”
