On Friday, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed a $32.4 Billion budget for the Peach State.  The Fiscal 2024 budget for Georgia will provide $4,000-$6000 pay raises for law enforcement officers and an increase in pay of $2,000 per year for other state workers.  The budget also will fully fund the state’s QBE – or Quality Basic Education plan.  QBE is the student funding formula for students from kindergarten – 12th grade.  The QBE funding makes up $13.1 billion of the upcoming fiscal year budget.  Also, the budget will provide 100% tuition for Georgia’s HOPE scholarship.  It is the first budget in over a decade to fully fund Hope scholarships.  The budget takes affect July 1, 2023.
