The Summerville Mohawk plant was recently featured in a Georgia Public Broadcasting “virtual field trip”.

The episode, which aired on GPB Television stations on December 8th, featured Mohawk Industries Vice-President of Manufacturing Kevin Mitchum at the Summerville Mohawk Plant.

The episode talks in part about Mohawk Industries’ sustainable processes and teaches students about the significance of reducing, reusing and recycling. The episode included a special tour through Mohawk’s Summerville, Georgia plant, as well as a closer look at different “ingredients” and finished carpeting to demonstrate the full process.

The GPB Education series is aligned to Georgia standards and targets grades three through eight. Supplemental resources are also available to all grades K-12.
