A lot of  people will be impacted once Northwest Georgia Regional Hospital shuts its doors on Sept. 30.

The director of workforce development for the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission, Gwen Dellinger says the commission has applied for $3.6 million in National Emergency Grant funds that would be used to train employees for new jobs.

While the commission has not been granted these funds they remain hopeful that with the number of people needing training the funds would be released by this July and would be available through June 2012.
