The Chattooga County Garden Club is proud to support  the 2011 Great Backyard Bird Count, or 2011 GBBC.  The GBBC begins Friday, February 18 and runs through Monday, February 21st. In order to participate all you need to do is look outside for 15 minutes each day of the count.  During the 15 minutes you should  tally the  birds that you see. You can do this every day or  on any day of the count. Once you have your tally, visit  www.birdcount.org, where you can enter the highest number of each species seen at any one time and watch as the tallies grow across the continent. The Great Backyard Bird Count 2011 is Coordinated by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, Audubon, and Bird Studies Canada, the four-day count typically records more than 10 million observations.
